2. VOYAGE
She is a diamond
plunged into the rocks,
that shines,
like eyes by daylight.
She is a firefly,
that swallows up the blaze.
Voyage.
Tell me a tale, my friend,
one more, of unspoken stories
falling from your hat into my twist.
She is a wolf,
that sings to the moon,
a whispered thrill,
an echo that cracks like a dream.
Voyage.
Tell me a tale, my friend,
one more, of unspoken stories
falling from your hat into my twist.
5. THE DAZE
«Will you walk a little faster?»
says the salesman to the Pope.
«There’s a fool close behind us,
and he’s treading on my deal».
Wises and guards take advantage,
waiting on the shingle.
Will you come and join the daze?
Will you, won’t you?
Will you join the daze?
You can really have no notion
how delightful it will be
when we catch and tie them tight,
with the fool out to the sea.
But the guard replies «Too loose,»
’cause they don’t want to join the daze.
«What does it matter if they are sane?»
replies the Holy Friend.
The further off from your Wonderland
the closer to your Hell.
They have to join the daze.
Will you, won’t you?
7. THE BOGEYMAN
Can you see what I see?
A glance is enough for the people
to make an opinion about me, about you.
Bogeyman baffled smiles:
he’s having a better time than me … than us.
Can you see what I see?
Aus der Vogelperspektive bin auch ich nur ein Wurm [1].
Can you see what I see?
(Is neurosis a social perspective?)
If there was freedom outside,
there would not be an Inside.
Aus der Vogelperspektive bin auch ich nur ein Wurm.
End up on the first page
and a neglected heat,
that made me a doll.
But the voice in my head says “It’s ok”,
and the noise says … it said … it’s ok!
[1]: From a bird’s eye view, I too am just a worm.
9. SUZES FLAMME [ >> Facing page translation]
Kennst du die kleine Grenze?
Den Unterschied zwischen dir und mir?
14. ROSA KANINCHEN [ >> Facing page translation]
Geht nun hinaus,
doch geht nicht zu weit!
Denkt an die Folgen,
seid allzeit bereit!
Rosa Träumen von Kaninchen,
sanfte Nebel hüllen euch ein.
Denkt an Alice, denkt an Alice!
Bleibt in der Spur,
wir kennen den Weg.
Haltet euch gerade,
und folgt dem Steg.
Rosa Träumen von Kaninchen,
sanfte Nebel hüllen euch ein.
Denkt an Alice, denkt an Alice!
«Life has many sparkling sides,
that we sell and you can buy».
Rosa Träumen von Kaninchen,
sanfte Nebel hüllen euch ein.
Das Leben ist eine Einbahnstraße,
Denkt an Alice, denkt an Alice!
9. SUZE’S FLAME
Do you know the little line?
The difference between me and you?
11. THE GARDEN
Once upon a time, there were two sisters,
Alice and Lacie,
who lived at the bottom of a well.
They pumped dreams, lived on dreams,
were dreams, and therefore sick.
Then a first stone fell,
and the dream disappeared.
Once upon a time, there were two sisters
who lived at the bottom of a well.
They pumped colors, lived on colors,
were colors, and therefore sick.
Then a second stone fell,
and the color disappeared.
Please shut up if you don’t believe in it!
Once upon a time, there were two sisters.
They pumped sounds, lived on sounds,
were sounds, and therefore sick.
And another rock fell,
and the sound disappeared.
Please shut up if you don’t believe in it!
Now there are only Alice-Lacie,
but no more well, and they are healthy.
They no longer pump, they no longer live off anything,
they no longer are, and therefore healthy.
Please shut up if you don’t believe in it!
14. PINK RABBIT
Go out now,
but do not go too far!
Think of the consequences,
Be ready at all times!
Pink dreams of rabbits,
Soft mists envelop you.
Think of Alice, think of Alice!
Stay on the trail,
We know the way
Keep straight,
And follow the footbridge.
Pink dreams of rabbits
Soft mists envelop you.
Think of Alice, think of Alice.
Life has many sparkling sides,
that we sell and you can buy.
Pink dreams of rabbits
Soft mists envelop you.
Life is a one-way street,
Think of Alice, think of Alice!
